Find out from your child about our week, here are some great questions to ask...
- What terrific 10 book have you read this week? What was your favourite?
- Did anyone do anything funny today?
- Did anyone do anything nice for you today?
Our class author for this half term is the National Geographic books for children.
Here are the nursery rhymes, songs and poems that we have been learning already this half term:
- Hickory Dickory Dock
- I'm a Little Teapot
- 5 Little Men in a flying saucer
- Mary Had a Little Lamb
- 5 Little Ducks
- Moon Rocket
Follow the hyperlinks above to practice these at home.
Remember to look at our Terrific 10 books and Super 6 on our knowledge organisers. The Spring 1 is up on our class door!
We have also been sharing some of our terrific 10 books.
We had a stay and play all about fine and gross motor. We showed our adults how important fine and gross motor is to help us with our writing. There were lots of useful ideas to use at home. Here is the link for the dough disco videos to strengthen them fingers. Click here.
We learnt all about Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated. We looked at the story behind Chinese New Year and how the animals were put into order. We had a race outside pretending to be different animals. This year is the year of the Dragon.

We learnt about some tradditions such as cleaning houses before the new year and giving family and friends money envelopes.
We have been making and preparing more healthy snack with Miss Warren. We have made banana cupcakes, made our own ham and cucumber sandwiches, pancakes and pizza bagels. We practiced lots of skills such as spreading, cutting, chopping, mixing and cracking eggs! We talked about healthy choices and what foods are healthy. When celebrated Shrove Tuesday we learnt what ingredients are needed to make the batter and how it is the Tuesday before lent.
In houses, we have been brushing our teeth after lunch. We reminded eachother how long to brush our teeth for and how much toothpaste to use. We know we need to brush all our teeth, up and down, top to bottom! The children loved showing eachother their sparkly teeth.
As part of learning about jobs, we had a very special visit from Cheshire West and Chester fire service. We looked at the different types of equipment and parts of the fire truck.
Have a great half term everyone and see you on Monday 26th February!
